The Orfeó Català and the Fundació Orfeó Català-Palau de la Música
The Orfeó Català is an amateur choir set up in 1891 and based at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona. Its members undergo suitable musical training to perform in a busy, high-quality concert programme.
The Orfeó Català-Palau de la Música foundation, set up in 1990, provides the Orfeó Català, and the training choirs which are organised within the Orfeó's choir school, with the resources they need to carry on their activities. The foundation also organises 12 cycles of concerts at the Palau de la Música Catalana, adding prestige to Barcelona's musical scene.
