For children aged six and seven Pupils begin their training at the age of six.
At this stage there is just one session a week, on Monday or Wednesday, in which the singers are introduced to ear training, rhythm and musical expression through singing, paying special attention to voice training.
The whole group of 6 and 7 year-old pupils is divided into two levels, Introduction 1 and Introduction 2, in order to provide more individualised attention.
Voice Training Voice training is above all on the basis of singing songs, but small exercises and games are also used to seek to extend the voice, lightness, singing in tune, etc. Breathing and bodily awareness are worked on together.
Rhythm and Ear Training Work is done on singing in tune and auditory recognition through listening and imitation, above all on the basis of the voice but also with the aid of some instruments.
Songs also form the basis for work on rhythm and beat, through accompaniment with Orff instruments, as well as body movements, small dances and/or representation of songs.
Reading music and notation A small introduction is given in a vary basic way to how music is written down, especially in the second introduction level.
Musical education at this age is above all at sensory level.
