The Revista Musical Catalana (Catalan Music Magazine - between November 1990 and April 2006 Catalunya Música/Revista Musical Catalana) is a monthly, Catalan-language publication with content related to classical music in all its forms: symphonic and choral music and opera –with special attention dedicated to the musical creations of Catalan composers. The monthly also features information about ballet, jazz, music festivals and popular and traditional music provided through reports, interviews, critiques, articles and special monographs in each issue, capturing Catalunya's current music scene and occasionally other topics of interest pertaining to classical music. All of this information is presented in a clear and easy to follow format that is intended for a general readership.

The Magazine boasts an extensive network of collaborators including several well-recognised organisations. The Magazine has also become a very important pedagogical tool due to the character and content of many of the monographs it publishes. Today, this publication is the only one of its kind sold in Catalan, and over 280 issues have been published up to now.

Throughout the years, more than 280 interviews have been published, all with prominent figures from the world of music, both on a national and an international level, and articles have been contributed by more than 500 collaborators.

In 1990 the Magazine was awarded the National Journalism Award for the best thematic publication, granted by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

The Revista Musical Catalana was launched in 1984 as the offspring of the first generation of the Revista Musical Catalana, the newsletter of the Orfeó Català, which was published between 1904 and 1936. This second generation of the Magazine (published by the Consortium of the Palau de la Música Catalana) gave rise to a third in November 1990 when the Magazine became associated with the radio station Catalunya Música until April 2006. After a fruitful 16-year collaboration, in May 2006 the original Revista Musical Catalana masthead was recovered, ringing in the fourth era in the history of the publication as well as a new image. In 2004 the publication celebrated its 20th anniversary and commemorated one hundred years since its first appearance. The Magazine has also published, in an outstanding offprint, the magazine of the ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya) since 2006.
